Project Edea

Situated in the Littoral region of Cameroon, Edea is a small city with French as its primary language, reflecting the country’s colonial history and official language status. The community has also received internally displaced Anglophones due to the Anglophone crisis since 2017. Despite its cultural richness and vibrant community life, Edea faces challenges related to healthcare accessibility. The city’s under-resourced facilities pose a significant hurdle for the residents, compelling them to undertake extensive journeys to larger cities in search of adequate medical care. This underscores the pressing need for interventions and support to bridge the gap in medical services.

Our inaugural project focuses on assisting Divine Care Medical Center in Edea, Cameroon. This clinic is committed to addressing the predominant health challenges faced by the local population, particularly women and children from the internally displaced Anglophone community. Confronting limited resources, the clinic tirelessly combats the prevalent issue of Malaria and provides a range of essential services to counter this disease. Among the services offered are general consultations, echography, prenatal care, labor and delivery, family planning, and patient hospitalization. The clinic's holistic approach aims to provide comprehensive healthcare solutions tailored to the specific needs of the Edea community.
